are
not required. But it is advisable to get vaccinations against: typfoid,
diphteria, tetanus, polio, and hepatitis A. It's advisable to take malaria

|
| If
you are on medication take a
sufficient supply with you. It is possible these medicines are difficult
to get in Indonesia. Some
people will be bothered by intestinal diseases at the beginning of the
trip because of the different climate or food. Bring a small medical kit
with you with: medicine for diarrhoea, aspirin or panadol, insect
repellent, antisceptic and band aids. Further more it is advisable to
bring with you a lip moisturizer, sunscreen lotion and multi vitamines.
Keep always alert that you don't drink unboiled water and don't use ice
cubes and don't eat street food. |

| The
tropical climate
of Indonesia knows two seasons. The dry season and the wet season. The wet
season falls between October and April, and the dry season between May and
September. The temparature throughout the year averages 25 to 30°C and
humidity averages a high 75%. We advise
you to bring light dry-cotton clothes
and for the cool evenings in the mountains you can bring a warm
sweater. In the wet season a rainsuit or poncho and umbrella can be very
handy. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen lotion are essential
to protect you from the scorching sun. |
|
| Indonesia
knows 3
time zones. Sumatra, Java, and West and Central Kalimantan are
on Western Indonesian Time, which is seven hours ahead of GMT. Bali, Nusa
Tenggara, South and East Kalimantan and Sulawesi are on Central Indonesian
Time, which is eight hours ahead of GMT. Irian Jaya and Maluku are on East
Indonesian Time, which is nine hours ahead of GMT. |
