|
| This
route is for people who love nature and want to avoid |
| the
more touristic places. (13 days). |
|
|
You
will be picked up from the airport in Palembang and brought to
your hotel (or upon request from your hotel in Palembang). The next
day you can explore the city of Palembang.
On
the third day you leave for the beautiful Lake Ranau where you will stay 2
nights. |
|
|
Danau
Ranau is a big vulcanic lake surrounded by mountains. Maybe
Lake Ranau is the most beautiful lake of Sumatra. You stay in a
bungalow with a wonderful view over the lake. On
the 5th day you leave for Krui, while under way passing a part of
the Bukit Barisan Seletan
National Park (3.568 kmē). From
Krui you can make small trips, for example you can visit
Pulau Pisang, a small island where you can
snorkle and swim. Eventually you can stay the night on the island.
On the seventh day you leave for Bandar Lampung,
the capital of the province Lampung. The next morning you can
easily walk and shop around in this friendly big city.
|
|
|
After
exploring Bandar Lampung you leave for Way Kambas,
where
you will visit the elephant training centre. Wild elephants are trained to
be useful on several projects (and to entertain visitors!). A good
initiative of the province Lampung. Many elephants were killed by
the population because they distroyed their villages. Now by using the
elephants on several projects, they are not only protected but also
useful to the population. You stay in Way Kanan (2 n.), in a very simple
basic camp at a riverbank in the
jungle. A boat trip on the Way Kanan river gives you
a view over the beautiful flora and fauna. The park is well known for the
many tropical bird species. |

|
On
day 10 you leave for Kalianda, a quiet town situated on the southern
tip of Sumatra. In Kalianda you can relax at the white
beaches and explore the beautiful surrounding. From Kalianda you can make
a boat trip to the (in)famous Krakatau vulcano and eventually stay the
night on a nearby small island. On
day 12 you cross over with a ferry to Java, where you can stay the night
in Jakarta or in Bogor. The next day we will bring you to the airport of
Jakarta or you extend your trip and travel further through Indonesia
with B&B Touring Service Indonesia.
